Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc. was formed on May 30th, 1879 at the Russell Military Academy in New Haven Connecticut. It’s founder F. Harvey Smith founded this Fraternity on the principles of brotherhood and cooperation that have steadfastly remained as core elements of Kappa Psi through its long history and many transitions. Kappa Psi is the oldest and largest fraternity within the profession of pharmacy, and is currently comprised of 76 collegiate and 58 graduate chapters (as of May 4th 2010) within the United States, Canada and the Bahamas.

Province IV is a regional grouping of chapters located in the southern states of Georgia, Alabama and Florida and the Bahamas. At present there are ten collegiate chapters and six graduate chapters in the province.

Province IV has a proud history of committed involvement and service within Kappa Psi and throughout the communities in which its chapters are located. As one of the fastest growing provinces in the country, it seeks to build on its proud heritage, and continue to expand in its influence and effect on the Fraternity and society at large. The Province is committed to fostering improved communication and fellowship among its members, and aiding in the development of the future leaders of this Fraternity and the profession of Pharmacy.

Province IV would like to congratulate Dr. Kali Weaver, alumnus of Gamma Zeta, as she was elected to the Grand office of Grand Vice Regent at the 54th Grand Council Convention in Clearwater Beach, FL for the 2009-2011 term.

The following awards were given to chapters within Province IV for the 2008-2009 Academic Year at the 54th Grand Council Convention:

#1 in the nation - Gamma Psi (Mercer in Atlanta, GA) - Also #1 chapter in Province IV
#7 in the nation - Gamma Phi (University of Georgia in Athens, GA)

Frank H. Eby Scholarship Tray Award for 2008 - Delta Rho (Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale, FL

The 54th Grand Council Convention, hosted by the Tampa Graduate Chapter and Province IV, was a great succes here in our Province at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort, in Clearwater, FL. Many of our chapters took home awards at the meeting, including Gamma Phi, Gamma Psi and Delta Rho. One of our Province Brothers, Kali Weaver was elected to the international office of Grand Vice Regent, making her the first female Grand Vice Regent in Kappa Psi history.
